I've discovered pacing is an important part of the blogging process. By having several small assignments prepared with a future deadline in mind, students can work at their own pace. Assignments will eventually overlap, but this provides individual goals in a
differentiated classroom.
This makes a lot of sense...I have a project going on now but I fear that it may be too big an assignment over too long a time...especially with the vacation in the middle....
ReplyDeleteI think it is important to teach students how to manage their time, particularly with a long term assignment. When they see that the teacher has set interim deadlines, that is the process they should adopt when doing one on their own. Students will also see the benefits of completing small steps toward that end.
